The nomination of US senator Kamala Harris, who has her connections with Chennai, because the vice-presidential working mate for the American Presidential elections 2020, is a second of delight for Indians and Tamil Nadu, stated state deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam.

Reacting to Tuesday’s announcement, Mr Panneerselvam recalled her roots and conveyed his hearty needs.

“It’s a second of delight for Indians and Tamil Nadu particularly, as Kamala Harris, the primary Indian senator, whose mom hails from Tamil Nadu has been nominated because the Vice Presidential candidate by the US Democratic celebration. My hearty needs to her,” he stated in a tweet.

Ms Harris’ mom, Shyamala, was the daughter of PV Gopalan, who was energetic within the Indian independence motion after which turned a high-ranking civil servant who fought towards corruption.
