Kozhikode crash: Pending wonderful saves Kerala expatriate’s life

T. Noufal considers himself extraordinarily fortunate to be alive and kicking, along with his earlier job too below his belt now. This comes a day after he was all despair after failing to board a flight again to native Kerala.

Little did the younger man know on Friday afternoon that future had good issues in retailer for him when he turned unhappy and offended after an emigration official advised him on the Dubai airport he won’t be able to board the Air India Categorical flight to Kozhikode resulting from a pending wonderful.

The plane crashed on touchdown on the Kozhikode airport on Friday night, killing 18 individuals on board.

“I used to be unhappy once I heard the officer say this to me. I didn’t know what to do; felt very dangerous. After failing to persuade the officer, I returned from the airport and referred to as up a relative to inform him that I used to be not coming,” recalled Noufal, who had misplaced his job because of the coronavirus pandemic.

For a number of hours thereafter, he was rolling in distress and cursing one and all for his ‘misfortune’.

However later, when he heard the information in regards to the crash and the tragedy, he thanked his stars for being alive.

“I had combined feelings — I used to be each unhappy and comfortable. Unhappy due to the tragedy and comfortable as a result of I used to be not on the ill-fated plane. I have no idea what all ideas precisely went by way of my thoughts at the moment,” added Noufal.

And in one other comfortable — or fortunate — flip of occasions for him, he acquired a name from his Arab sponsor and later his firm relating to his job.

“My sponsor stated I can rejoin the job from which I used to be terminated. Quickly after, I acquired a name from an HR Division official who requested me to rejoin,” stated Noufal.

Noufal recalled that kinfolk of two girls had requested him to assist them until they met their ready relative on the Kozhikode airport in case he boarded the flight.

“One was an aged girl. I’ve been advised that she suffered minor accidents and will probably be discharged from hospital later within the day. One other was a pregnant girl travelling together with her younger baby. I’m but to listen to something about them,” the expatriate stated with a tinge of unhappiness.

Requested when he planed to return to his hometown, he stated: “Now that I’m becoming a member of again at my workplace, I’ve no plan to go to Kerala for the time being.”
