A 23-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a person in a park close to Purple Fort in north Delhi, police stated on Tuesday. The incident befell on Saturday and the accused has been arrested, they stated.

The person and the sufferer are vagabonds and so they knew one another, a senior police officer stated.

On Saturday evening, an individual after recognizing the girl, who was bleeding from her head, referred to as the police management room. She was taken to a hospital the place she advised docs concerning the incident, the officer stated.

The lady advised police that the person raped her within the park and when she resisted, hit her with a stone, police stated.

She has additionally alleged that the person had kidnapped her daughter. Nevertheless, police discovered the woman later, they stated.

“The incident befell on Saturday. A case was registered below related sections of the Indian Penal Code on the Kotwali police station and the accused was arrested,” police official Monika Bhardwaj stated.
