Mumbai Police Chief Briefs Uddhav Thackeray Over Sushant Rajput's Death

Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered hanging in his dwelling in Bandra on June 14.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh on Sunday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai and apprised him in regards to the ongoing investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput demise case.

Mr Rajput, 34, was discovered hanging in his dwelling in Bandra on June 14 and the case is being probed by Mumbai police in addition to Bihar police, after the late actor’s household filed a case in Patna.

Residence division sources stated Mr Singh first met state Residence Minister Anil Deshmukh after which the 2 went to the Chief Minister.

Condemning the demand from some quarters, together with the opposition BJP, at hand over the probe to the CBI, Mr Deshmukh tweeted, “Maharashtra police is inquiring into the case professionally and are competent in digging out the reality, leaving no stone unturned.”

“Even when Bihar police registered an offence in Patna beneath Ch 12 and 13 of the CrPC, it needs to be investigated, inquired and tried by the police and courts inside whose jurisdiction the offence is dedicated. I condemn the demand for the case to be handed over to the CBI,” Mr Deshmukh additional tweeted.

Chapter 12 of the Code of Legal Process (CrPC) offers with “info to the police and their energy to analyze” whereas Chapter 13 of CrPC offers with “jurisdiction of legal courts in inquiries and trials”.
